A queer home in Belgium

A place to arrive
as your whole self

A community-owned home and gathering place — sex-positive by design, democratically governed, and built to last.
Not a night out. A place to come back to.

To establish and steward a community-owned, democratically governed home and gathering place where queer people of all genders and orientations can live, meet, and explore — sex-positive, shame-free, and built for the long term.
What we are

Three things, inseparably

Lusthaven is a queer association shaping the culture, programming, and community life of a permanent home in Belgium. Not a pop-up. Not a venue for hire. A home.

The Haven Collective SC/CV is the cooperative working to acquire and steward that home — a historic Flemish estate in Sint‑Truiden.

An events space

Queer events, sex-positive nights, workshops, and gatherings — in spaces designed for them, not borrowed from someone else's idea of a venue.

The space

A castle.
Genuinely.

Our target property is Het Kasteel van Velm — a protected Flemish monument with grounds, outbuildings, and the kind of physical presence that quietly changes how a community feels about itself.

The renovation honours the heritage of the building while making space for everything that needs to be here: a playspace, a communal kitchen, event rooms, guest accommodation, and places to simply be.
